Houston car sourcing · Auction & wholesale buying · Nationwide
You pick it. We source it. Tell us the exact car you want. We hunt dealer-only auctions like Manheim nationwide, you approve the car and your max price, and you see every dollar — what the car cost, auction and transport costs, and our flat fee. No hidden dealer markup.
We source every major make and body type, including Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, Honda, Nissan, Ram, GMC, Jeep, Tesla, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Audi, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Porsche, Cadillac, Pickups, SUVs, Sedans, Coupes, Minivans, Work trucks, EVs, Luxury, Projects.
How car sourcing works
Four steps. Nothing gets bought until you say so.
Year, make, model, trim, mileage, colors, options, condition and your maximum budget. The more specific, the faster we move.
We search dealer-only auction inventory and dealer channels nationwide — auctions like Manheim — for cars that match your request.
Review the photos, disclosures and condition information available. Approve the specific car and set the maximum you authorize us to spend.
After your deposit, we bid or buy within your limit, then handle transport coordination and the applicable dealer paperwork — to Houston or anywhere in the US.

Most used cars on dealer lots passed through a dealer auction first. Buying there means you shop the same wholesale supply dealers buy from — across the whole country — then pay a disclosed fee instead of a retail markup.
Why not just buy from a dealer?
A dealer buys at auction, adds markup, reconditioning and fees, and sells you the result at retail. We buy the car you choose at auction and charge one flat fee — and you see every line.
$3,000 example difference
Illustrative example, not a quote or a promise of savings. The dealer price is a hypothetical retail listing for a comparable car; real retail prices, auction results and costs vary, and TTL applies either way. Try the estimator with a real listing you've found.
We'd rather tell you up front. A dealer lot can make more sense if you need a car today, want to test-drive the exact car before you buy, or want a dealer-backed warranty or in-house financing. If you can wait a little and want the real numbers, that's where we come in.

Example$4,750 example difference
Every example uses the HC fee for that price range and typical-looking auction and transport costs. Dealer retail figures are hypothetical comparisons. Real prices and costs vary car by car; TTL is extra.
Your risk. Your budget. Your call.
Pick the risk level you're comfortable with. More risk can mean more value — you decide where that line sits.
For buyers who want a straightforward daily driver. We focus on vehicles offered under green-light or similar auction terms.
Auction sale lights are not warranties, and rules vary by auction.
Cosmetics, maintenance, tires, brakes, detailing or other disclosed needs can open up real savings for buyers willing to put in some work.
For experienced buyers who specifically authorize as-is inventory.
Arbitration rights may be limited or unavailable, depending on the auction and sale terms.
Mechanical problems, body damage, high mileage, non-running cars or full projects. Tell us exactly what you're willing to fix — and what you're not.
No mystery markup
A flat sourcing fee, disclosed before you approve anything — instead of our pay hiding inside the price of the car.
| Vehicle price | Sourcing fee | Min. deposit |
|---|---|---|
| Under $10K | From $500 | $1,000 |
| $10K–$19,999 | From $1,000 | $2,000 |
| $20K–$29,999 | From $1,250 | $3,000 |
| $30K–$49,999 | From $1,500 | $5,000 |
| $50K+ | Custom quote | 10% |
Your exact fee and every applicable charge are set out in your signed customer agreement before you authorize a purchase.
Estimate only — not a quote. Defaults match our example deal; auction costs and transport vary by car, auction and distance, and auction prices aren't guaranteed. Tax, title and registration (TTL) are extra.
Whatever you drive
If it runs through a dealer auction, we can hunt it — from a work truck to a weekend toy.

Dealers & wholesale buyers
We don't just buy for retail customers. HC Auto Source wholesales vehicles and sources to spec for dealers, independent lots and flippers — in Houston and across the country.

Once you approve a specific car and the maximum you're authorizing us to spend, you pay a purchase deposit before we bid or buy. Minimums are $1,000 for cars under $10K, $2,000 for $10K–$19,999, $3,000 for $20K–$29,999, $5,000 for $30K–$49,999 and 10% for $50K and up. The deposit is credited toward the vehicle — it is not an extra charge. You can also fund the full authorized amount up front if you prefer.
Refundability, cancellation terms, what happens if we don't win a vehicle, and payment deadlines are all written into your signed customer agreement before any bid or purchase. Read it, ask us anything, and only sign when it's clear.
No. A deposit alone never triggers a bid. You review the available photos, disclosures and condition information, approve that specific car and set your maximum price first. We don't bid above the maximum you authorize.
We buy through dealer-only wholesale auctions like Manheim, plus other dealer-to-dealer channels. That's inventory the public normally can't access, from across the country — not just what's sitting on one lot.
No. We're based in Houston, TX and serve customers anywhere in the United States. We source nationwide and arrange transport to your door or to a pickup point near you. Transport is shown as its own line — never buried.
Auctions use lights and announcements to describe the terms a car is sold under. Broadly, green is the seller's lower-risk representation, yellow means specific announced conditions apply, and red means the car is sold as-is. Rules vary by auction, and sale lights are not warranties. Arbitration rights vary too, and may be limited or unavailable on as-is sales — we walk you through the terms on any car before you approve it.
